KVKK clarification text

This clarification text has been prepared by StudyMapGlobal, as the data controller, within the scope of Article 10 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK" or "Law") and the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles to be Followed in Fulfilling the Disclosure Obligation. Our aim is to inform you in a transparent manner about the purposes for which the personal data you share with us is processed, with whom it is shared, and the rights you have while using our services.
1. Identity of the data controller

- Education and preference data: Your answers regarding the department and program you are interested in, the country you are targeting, your current education level and scholarship eligibility.
- Transaction and request data: The content of the pre-registration form, the information you shared in the consultancy meetings and records related to your application process.
- Process safety and technical data: IP address, browser information and usage records collected through cookies during your visit to our website.
We do not request your special personal data (e.g. health, religion, biometric data) as it is not required by our service. We kindly request that you do not share data of this nature through our forms.
3. Purposes of processing personal data
Your collected personal data is processed for the purposes listed below and limited to these purposes:
- Receiving your free education consultancy request, evaluating it and providing you with feedback.
- Identifying and recommending programs, universities and scholarship opportunities that suit your interests and goals.
- Providing you with end-to-end support during the application, registration, visa and orientation processes.
- Measuring and improving our service quality by answering your requests and questions.
- If you have your explicit consent, campaigns and announcements will be delivered to you.
- Fulfilling our obligations arising from the relevant legislation and carrying out legal processes.
4. Legal grounds for processing
Your personal data is processed based on the following legal reasons specified in Article 5 of the KVKK:
- Establishment or execution of the contract: It is mandatory to process your data in order to provide consultancy services.
- Legal liability: Your data needs to be processed in accordance with the legislation we are subject to.
- Legitimate interest: It is necessary to process your data for our legitimate interests, such as improving our service quality, provided that your fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed.
- Explicit consent: In cases where the above reasons are not available, your express consent, especially for transactions such as marketing and sending electronic messages.
5. Transfer of personal data
Your personal data can be transferred to the extent necessary to achieve the above-mentioned purposes and in accordance with the conditions stipulated in Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK.
Domestic transfer
Your data; It can be transferred, upon request, to the educational institutions we cooperate with for the purpose of carrying out your application process, the suppliers we receive services from (e.g. call center, IT infrastructure providers) and legally authorized public institutions and organizations.
International transfer
If you apply to universities abroad, your data necessary for the completion of your application may be transferred to the relevant educational institutions and cloud service providers within the framework of the assurances stipulated in the KVKK and, where necessary, your express consent.
6. Method of collection of personal data
Your personal data; It is collected by automatic and partially automatic methods, through pre-registration and contact forms on our website, scholarship eligibility test, communication channels such as e-mail, telephone and WhatsApp, and cookies. Your data is stored only for the purposes specified in this text and for the period stipulated in the relevant legislation or required by the purpose of processing.
7. Rights of the person concerned (KVKK article 11)
In accordance with Article 11 of the KVKK, you can exercise the following rights regarding your personal data by contacting us as the data controller:
- Learning whether your personal data is being processed or not.
- Requesting information if your personal data has been processed.
- Learning the purpose of processing your personal data and whether they are used for their intended purpose.
- Knowing the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred at home or abroad.
- Request correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or incorrectly processed.
- Requesting the deletion or destruction of your personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in Article 7 of the KVKK.
- To request correction, deletion and destruction to be notified to third parties to whom your data has been transferred.
- Object to the emergence of a result against you by analyzing your processed data exclusively through automatic systems.
- Request compensation for the damage if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing of your personal data.
8. Application method

Depending on the nature of your request, your application will be finalized free of charge as soon as possible and in any case within thirty days after we receive the request in accordance with Article 13 of the KVKK. If the transaction requires an additional cost, you may request the amount at the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
